Island life is amazing

We live in such a great place.  On Thursday night, after checking in a couple of great guests, we ran to Courtenay to run errands and grab a bite to eat.  Enjoyed some great music from local guitarists/songwriters Anela and Luke while eating at Comox’s newer restaurant, Island Tides, where Kathy works hard to make it all great.   And, it’s worth the drive.

We had a bicycling group here from Oregon, a couple from the Netherlands, and then a couple of new Comox friends who got our donated accommodations certificate at a charity auction and chose to celebrate their birthdays here.  We also enjoyed the company of Jean Pare, the entrepreneur behind Company’s Coming cookbook series.

On Saturday, we bought Rhododendrons at the Rotary sale, and on Sunday, we visited a friend who just got home from triple bypass surgery, and enjoyed dinner at Horne Lake with other great friends.   That’s one you have to check out, too–  What an incredible artist.  She is doing a floor mosaic for a retirement home in Edmonton, which has more than 500 hand-cut pieces of stone in a beautiful floral pattern reflective of Alberta flora; and her little “gift” pieces–trivets and candle holders–are just awesome works of natural beauty.

Off to work on projects for SmartBiz clients and looking forward to our Chamber of Commerce BBQ on June 23.   Life is good…
