We have great news to share! Two Eagles Lodge was featured in the October issue of Destinations Travel Magazine (www.DestinationsTravelMagazine.com) and also the November issue of Northwest Dive News Magazine. Way cool! You can even see photos of us doing our maiden drysuit dive with UB Diving and the publisher of NW Dive News! The wolf eel was awesome!
Fall may have its share of gray days, but with the changing seasons and ‘moods’ of beautiful Vancouver Island, it’s an awesome place to be. Mt. Washington already has snow, so snow-shoeing we did go…and we took a beautiful drive to Gold River just to savour the “ahhh” along the way.
The wedding reception we hosted for Wendy & Rick reminded us just how much we enjoy hosting special events at Two Eagles Lodge. To share our home with friends and their guests, who often become our friends, who want to celebrate a special occasion, such as a wedding or anniversary, is so rewarding. We also enjoy doing events for business groups and look forward to our upcoming holiday parties for a group of dialysis nurses and a local dentist’s staff party. Although hosting events can be a lot of work, it’s a labor of love when you can stand around and enjoy everyone in a great mood enjoying your home. We spent many hours in Maryland planning our place, form and function being big, but never anticipated being a venue for other people’s events. When we hosted our first parties and events, including a Chamber of Commerce party for 130 in June 2009, we knew our planning had paid off. The vision worked, and we felt really good. Winning the Torch Award from the BBB for the entire island was just icing on the cake. Thanks to those who have been here and to those who want to host events, workshops, or parties here in the future!
